The stadium fills with thrill seekers. They’ve come to witness man’s frail attempt to control the unpredictable power of nature. In this contest between apex predators, man seems overmatched from the start…because he is.

The behemoth is 22 feet long and 6 tons of muscle, cunning and instinct. It’s been honed by thousands of years of survival into a killing machine; it is the killer whale. Man meets this challenge with intelligence and little else.

Why so mad Cincinnati? It’s just Vanity Fair…

This statement is part of a recent article that used social media to sell Vanity Fair magazines. How was it done?

For those of you who haven’t read the Vanity Fair op-ed, or simply don’t want to, here is what happened…Vanity Fair published a story about the Creation Museum, located in Kentucky. The article paints the city of Cincinnati in an unflattering light. The entry has been met with significant backlash in the blogging community, and by a major local newspaper. It’s generated so much hype that the author eventually responded.

Celebrity Stalking: The Kardashians

Kim Kardashian, from the reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, has over three million followers on Twitter. Her sister, Khloe, has tweeted about their new line of clothes for bebe more times than I can count. And Kourtney has mentioned her interview with Jimmy Kimmel three times in a row.

Social media marketing seems to be the Kardashian sisters’ full-time job. Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney use their Twitter and blog accounts as a team to market both themselves and the products they use.

Suicide by Advertising Cliche

Have you ever justified an action with, “Everyone is doing it!”? If so, you were most likely met with the equally cliché, “If ‘so-and-so’ tells you to jump off a bridge, are you going to do it?”…This is the current culture of advertising in social media.

Like lemmings making a break for the sea, small businesses are lining up without good reason. Do businesses need to be advertising in all social media platforms?

Let’s Talk About Condoms…

Recent market research has led to a new understanding of the “jimmy hat”. Apparently, “size does matter” when it comes to condoms. It seems that men often buy condoms that don’t fit properly. Research highlights the idea that men are rarely incented to purchase condoms that are marked “small” or “medium”. Maybe sizing should start with “Large”…?
