Toyota: An American Success

I know we are on the edge of destruction when I see “buy American” signs on my morning commute. Before you call me a pinko-commie, let me explain. As someone who gets chills hearing our national anthem, I find patriotism to be an admirable trait. However, I recognize the prevalence of “buy American” to signify we are either at war, or in economic distress. As it happens, we are in both. Subconsciously, we crave this flag-waving approach, and Toyota has become an unlikely candidate to cater to our patriotic sentiments.

Celebrity Stalking: Gaga Redux

No one knows who Stefani Germanotta is. She is a graduate of the all-girls Convent of the Sacred Heart in Manhattan, she has naturally thick brunette hair, and she has her own creative production team called the Haus of Gaga. Stefani has transformed herself from a normal girl from a good Italian family with a penchant for going pant-less on stage, to a pop and fashion icon.

“Everything isn’t the I-Phone”- DaVinci, 1518

Time for a quick rant about “what things are not”.

If you make a cell phone, do not compare it to the iPhone.  Look, it’s simple. Don’t pick fights that you can’t win.  Many of the new phones (and a few of the old ones) are more than competent and valuable to a wide variety of people who do not need what an I-Phone can do. However, not only do companies fail to make their product the “hero” of their campaigns, they also introduce a better suitor to the customers they are courting.

It’s Lindsay!!!!

Regardless of the connotations, I would be hard-pressed to associate the first name Lindsay with the socialite Lindsay Lohan. But this is essentially the premise that Miss Lohan is going to court with.

She is suing E-Trade for defamation to the tune of 100 million. The commercial aired during the Super Bowl as part of a successful ad campaign for E-Trade. Continue reading »
