I neither own nor want a television. Don’t get me wrong; it’s not because of some hipster moral high ground, but because I have a better alternative. It’s Hulu.com. I can now watch all of my favorite shows online and at my own leisure. I remember when I first stumbled on the URL…it was the classic movie scene where two lovers are running across a field and hug it out. I may be exaggerating a bit, but Hulu is one online service that I fully embrace.

Craig Ferguson, host of The Late Late Show, calls his Twitter followers his “Robot Skeleton Army” (or Skellyborgs, Twitzylvanians, Cyberbonies, Cyberbone Homies, Skellypeeps, and the RSA). Craig has been asking people to follow his Twitter in his monologues, and reading their tweets in a segment on his talk show.
The Late Late Show has had consistently competitive ratings, often surpassing its counterparts on NBC, even without traditional marketing used by other late night shows. It will be interesting to see how using social media will affect The Late Late Show in the long run, and if “followers” on Twitter can translate into higher ratings for Craig’s show.

I’ve used Facebook so long that I feel like I created it. Call it arrogance, but when they rolled out a new look last month, I was surprised Mark Zuckerberg hadn’t consulted me first… As an early adopter, I also hold the impression that only college students use Facebook. I would have been correct six years ago, but the game has changed.
Looking through the Welt Branding fan page, it’s clear that the users aren’t 20 anymore (no offense). In fact, 50% of our fans are ages 25-34. While some of these fans may still be in college (some pursuing more degrees, others taking a decade for a B.A.), it’s clear that Facebook demographics are shifting.
