The Dutch Touch

The Dutch are synonymous with beautiful women, incredible beer, and progressive thinking. Throw it all together in the name of marketing and guess what you get? Thirty scantily clad women at the World Cup promoting the Dutch brewery, Bavaria N.V.

Like a true challenger, they creatively placed this product in front of the public and most of us liked what we saw. To a select group of viewers, namely the Dutch, the dresses are associated with the Bavaria N.V. brand. The mini dresses are given out with the beer. So when Dutch viewers saw a group of orange clad women, even with no labels, the Bavaria N. V. connection was made.

Super Bowl Ads: Were they worth it?

Maybe it was the beer or that my team wasn’t playing, but I can hardly remember the Super Bowl. I know New Orleans won and that Betty White was in a hilarious commercial. That’s it though.

Companies spent big money for commercials during the big show. In our new segment Welt Walking, we set out in an incredibly scientific manner to see if the public remembered the commercials. Check it out…

Twitter’s Collective Entitlement Rears Its Ugly Head… Again

“What the mob wants, the mob gets…” is quickly becoming the norm of social media. News of the Spiderman series relaunch, combined with Twitter, has geeks dreaming up “what if” scenarios. What if Spiderman were black? Could the story still be told as Peter Parker? Can you have a Spiderman without a Peter Parker?

Through Twitter brainstorming sessions, these were some of the questions asked. At some point, the concept gained traction and a “campaign” was born. Spurred by the recent success of other Twitter campaigns, some Twitter users are demanding Sony Pictures to cast Donald Glover as the new crusader of the franchise.
