Ad Fail: Are you ‘D+’ material? Drake University wants you

Drake University, located in Des Moines, Iowa, recently got blasted after the introduction of its Drake Advantage undergraduate recruitment campaign. The premise of this marketing campaign, based on the tagline, “The Drake Advantage: your Passion + our Experience,” was to emphasize that Drake provides its students with not only an education but “an experience that puts opportunity into action and gives purpose to your passion.” Sounds harmless enough, right? Ad Win: Move it Hipsters

After seeing this Flatrate ad, I was forced to change the title of our Ad Fail segment for this week. I find anything at a hipster’s expense funny. But being able to make fun of the same people who use your product without alienating them is on the cusp of genius.
